Join Summerville Saltwater Anglers, Dorchester County, Charleston Waterkeeper, Lowcountry Land Trust, American Rivers, and Keep Dorchester County Beautiful for a cleanup on your local waterway, the Ashley Scenic River. The coalition is seeking volunteers to remove trash from the main channel via boat and volunteers to remove trash from land and local tributaries. Volunteers with pickup trucks to haul trash from land-based locations back to Jessen Landing are needed as well. On the day of the event, groups will be assigned a specific cleanup location based on age, ability levels, and group size.
Date: Saturday, March 9, 2019
Time: 9am – 1pm
Location: Jessen Landing, 4820 Ladson Rd, Summerville, SC 29485
Please register if you are going to volunteer so we can get an accurate headcount:

A very special thank you to our guest speaker in August, Gene Morrison. Gene is the president of Military Appreciation Day – Charleston, and he visited our club to talk about ways we can help support MAD on October 13, 2018. He also donated an American Flag that was flown on a C-17 while on patrol to auction at our End of the Year Party in November! Visit MAD-Charleston’s website to sign up as a volunteer for October 13th’s event.
We had a great meeting on July 18th – we welcomed Zach Bjur from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to provide some great information on oysters and how important they are to our ecosystem. We also had an update on some of the new products released and announced at ICAST 2018 in Orlando. Here are the presentations on both topics.
