January is a traditional time to make resolutions, to renew our commitment to some of the important things in life. And that includes fishing! We at SSWA would like to encourage you go ahead and renew your club membership for 2018! As you know, our memberships are a wonderful family investment and a great value. For the coming year, annual dues remain $25 for individuals and $50 for families. We have several convenient payment options, too. You can pay by check mailed to this address:
Summerville Saltwater Anglers
PO Box 3484
Summerville, SC 29484-3484
Alternatively, you can pay by credit card online at our Square marketplace (https://squareup.com/market/summerville-salt-water-anglers-club ). If you buy online, be sure to complete the shipping info even though we won’t be sending you anything. This will ensure that we credit you for the dues. Of course you can always pay at an SSWA event in January-March. However you renew, we really hope you’ll stay in the SSWA family for an awesome 2017.
Hey everyone, its Cobia Flotilla week! The big day is Friday. It’s not too late to sign up. We already have 8 boats going. Please sign on the forum and let us know if you plan to go. We need to know if:
1. You have a boat (Capt and Crew and have not already let us know)
2. You want to go and have a boat (Capt) and no crew
3. You want to go (Crew) but don’t have a boat
We have a few people (Crew) looking for a boat. If you are not on the forum, please contact Dave Fladd at 843-324-4272. All the information you will need is on the club forum under Inshore Discussion. If you are going, I also need folks to sign up for a food item for the Friday barbecue at Edisto. Thanks, its going to be a lot of fun!
A nice Wahoo Caught by Davis Bryant recently with his dad John Bryant.
Congratulations to Matthew Johnson for catching the new youth club record trout at 22.5″. This trout was caught in the Cooper river in an unusual way (I’ll keep the method a secret) – his method wasn’t working so he switched it up…Looks like the new method worked! Way to go, Matthew, you are an outstanding fisherman! We look forward to seeing your name on the record board more in the future.
